Can you “fix a weakness?” Have you sent any of your staff for training to “fix their weaknesses?” Are you focused on helping your kids with their perceived weaknesses?
If you answered “Yes” to any of the above questions, you may be surprised to hear me telling you that “you cannot fix a weakness”. Successful people who perform the best are people who do the following:
- Identify their strengths.
- Understand their strengths.
- Apply (fit) their strengths in their work to produce great results and add to the bottom line.
- Manage their weaknesses with their strengths.
Fact: People who spend their time doing what they do best display the greatest productivity and profitability.
Just doing more of what you do best can dramatically improve your performance. That’s the simple part. The more complex part is finding out how to do that in your present role, or finding another role that allows you to do that.
If you are a sales manager or a small business owner, would you agree that coaching your staff (and yourself) to do the above would produce enhanced performance and profitability? Can you afford not to benefit from coaching?
As a business coach, I can help you identify the Top 5 Strengths of each of your staff. I can also coach them to understand how these talent themes can be applied to their work to grow their performance by at least 20%.
Can you afford not to have coaching as part of your “Investment Policy”? Your staff are the biggest asset in your business. When Hal Rosenbluth, CEO of Rosenbluth International, was asked what the most important factor was for his business success, he replied “The Customer comes second”. “Who comes first?’ he was asked. “My employees” he answered. What he was saying is that if you genuinely want to put the customer first, you must put your employees more first!
