ebernick In my series of blog articles outlining the catalyst for realizing your inner potential, I have been using each letter in the word INVEST (being used as an acronym) to highlight an aspect of “Investing in you potential” . We have already discussed the first three letters, namely “I” for Inspiration, “N” for No Problems, Only Opportunities, and “V” for Vision.
In our discussion of the next letter in the acronym “INVEST” (IN YOUR POTENTIAL), the letter “E” stands for ENTHUSIASM.
One dictionary describes enthusiasm as a “strong excitement for something you like or enjoy”
Enthusiasm is a game changer! People with enthusiasm go through life with an air of confidence that they can achieve whatever they put their mind to. Minor day-to-day difficulties are swept aside as if they did not exist. Their words have power, their eyes sparkle. Others who come into contact with them are attracted to them. Enthusiasm is powerful in its ability to enthuse both yourself and others who come into contact with you.
If enthusiasm is so powerful, the question arises, “Why don’t more people have enthusiasm?”
I guess the answer is that some people are “waiting for enthusiasm to come to them”. These people will wait a long time, because enthusiasm does not “come to you”. You have to “go to it”. You have to generate your own enthusiasm! I am going to give you a simple tool to achieve this. The power of this tool is in the doing of it.
Write down 3 lists as follows:
- 10 Reasons why it is good to be alive
- 10 Reasons why it is advantageous for others to have my product or services
- 10 reasons why it is important for me to be a success
Then, take a few moments to read these lists daily. As you focus on the meaning of these personal reasons, you will “go to enthusiasm”. You will generate enthusiasm for yourself, and it will put a spring in your step, a smile on your face, and a positive energy into your soul.
Add “Enthusiasm” to the first three ingredients already outlined, namely, “Inspiration”, “No Problems, Only Opportunities” and “Vision” to realise your personal power within you.
